    Hey you sparky people!

On a regular 15Amp circuit how many (theorically) recessed 50w halogen fixtures can I put on a single circuit?

    Thanks!

    Theorically, 36

    120*15=1800/50=36
In my area we are limited to 10 fixtures per circuit.

Actually it would be 28 theoretically. 1800 watts on a 15 amp circuit, but you can't load more than 80% so you lose 360 watts. So 28 50 watt lights max.

If it is not considered a continueous load, the you can load the circuit to 100%. Not the best idea, but doable!
