    at my camp we are taking out an elec cook stove with an oven and replacing with a elec stove top (no oven) the original stove had a 50 amp breaker on it.
    my question is do i need a breaker that big and what gauge wire will i need stove is right beside the breaker box and should it be hard wired or put a reseptacle in. THANKS EARL

    Earl, Most cook tops use a 30A service. I assume yours would call for a 30A line. You would then use #10 wire with a 30A breaker on it. You can make it plug connected or hard wired, either way is OK. Be sure you bring in a nuetral if it's needed. Lou
