    The part about using the extension cord should have been made more clear. I had in mind a short one and to try plugging it into another CFCI receptacle nearby only to test it. The other test could be to use an inline GFCI. The person that started this thread hasn't replied so either the problem got solved or he has yet to get things fixed.

      I suspected you might have had a test in mind. But wanted to ask my question because lots of folks don't actually realize that extension cords are a no-no except for test and/or temporary use.

      Like you, I noted that the OP hasn't been back... but it's an interesting subject. Nuisance tripping of GFIs can be such a, well, nuisance!
