  • Question about flat panel tv installation

I mounted a flat panel tv in my home office, and didn't want a mass of cords dangling from it, so I put in 2 low voltage wire pass through wall plates and put the HDMI and other video cables through them.

My question is what to do about the power cord? do I violate code if I put the tv's power cord behind the wall with the video cables? Will I ultimately have to put in an outlet directly behind my tv to meet code?

Right now, the "cord spaghetti" looks a lot better with most of it routed through the wall, just not sure what to do with the tv power cord now

You can not run the power cord into the wall and back out again.
You need to put a receptacle behind the tv.

like jbfan said no u can not run power cord in the wall. Is there a receptacle under the tv now? If so an electrician should be able to cut one in up higher on the wall behind the tv.
