  • 2-3/4" Chassis Punch

Does anyone know where I can purchase a good chassis punch to make 2-3/4" holes? When I say 2-3/4" I mean that I really want hole to be 2-3/4" diameter. I'm sure such is made as it's the correct size for mounting many panel meters. For now I use a hole saw and a slow spindle speed drill press (16 ga. aluminum sheets and 150 RPM), but can't get as clean a hole as a good punch would make.

While I'm sure for enough big $$$ Greenlee would make me a special punch, I bet somewhere I can get one ready made up. I don't mind grunting away turning a screw with socket and ratchet wrench. That means it doesn't need to be for a hydraulic punching setup.

    have you watched Ebay,
they at one time were a bunch of old radio type chassis punches when I was looking for come conduit punches, (no sure of the sizes but nearly ever type would show up from time to time),

I used to look and need to keep watching eBay. I'm pretty sure Greenlee has made and may still make that size, but new it would be good money for sure.

I did measure the hole the 2 1/2" conduit one of mine would cut and it is 2 7/8" hole,
I just thought I would check to see what it was,

Thanks everyone for your help. Please note that Woussko is cheap and most likely will stay to using my trusty hole saw. If I need to make lots of 2-3/4" holes then maybe I'll get a good punch. I'm also going to ask around local machine shops if they happen to have a 2-3/4" punch. It might be better for me to take the work to them and have them punch the holes for me.
