RIDGID 7000 Watt Generator CSA with Honda Engine
    Model # RD7000 Internet # 202051315
    Just received above generator.
The output plug is a 4-opening twist connector.
The plug to the switch box that connected the old generator to the fuse box, is a three prong connector. It used to supply 220v to the fuse box.
Can the 4-prong and 3-prong connectors be made to be compatible?

    Re: Rigid Generator output

The old "220" plug you had was not legal nor was it safe. This was using a straight 240v to feed a 120/240v load. This means the ground wire was carrying the neutral current.
This was quite often (incorrectly) done where the generator only had a 3-prong straight 240v receptacle.

Correct this by having the proper 4-wire 120/240v inlet wired to your panel through a proper transfer switch or main breaker interlock.
