  • AC Evaporator Fan

The Trane AC outside condenser seems to be OK as evaporator is frosting up due to almost no air flow across it. Checked the squirrel cage blower and it is turning but nowhere as fast as it should be as no noticeable air flow is coming out the vents as in the past. Have the air filter out so that is not the problem. Before I pull out the fan motor, just wanted to see if a bad capacitor might keep the motor at a very slow speed....barely hear the motor energized when turning on the power.

Appreciate any suggestion / tests. Thanks.

check amps on motor. Low amp draw means air restriction. A evap fan motor rarely goes out but it's possible.
