    Re: Iced over unit.

Thanks for the welcome, I found this place by accident, just farting around the net. Glad I did. I miss talking construction and am looking to do a number of projects around the house to get her ready for sale in another year or so. Lots of ideas here and some great links....

      Re: Iced over unit.

i work with a.c. all summer here and just came home from an install with the same issue. i stayed with the unit for about 2 hour while i was setting up the machine and was ok to go. i decided to have lunch wth one of my install teams up the road and on my way to the office i thought why not take a look and see if all is still well. there way a hugh ice build up outside and around the evaporator coil inside the issue was one that i hate tx valves. another day another one stuck. the days of the bullet (orfice) ae sure to return with the problems we have all been having down here. just for more info do you remember your suction line temp or your discarge temp?
how is it that so many answers are in the instructions

Can't remember, we keep a file on all that info at the shop. When things slow down I'll try to remember it. I guess I'm weird when it comes to HVAC. I like txv's, heat pumps. Can't stand fixed orifice. Different strokes for different folks. As long as the customer is happy, we've done our job.
        Buy cheap, buy twice.
