  • Evap cooler thermostat

I have a Master Cool on my house (and shop). The one on the house has a hokey thermostat. It's about 10 years old and does work, just not too good. sometimes it will cyle fine and sometimes we'll wake up on the morning now and it's 60 in the house and still blowing.

anyone have any suggestions for a "better" thermostat? I see Mastercool has a new one out, anyone ever use it?

    This one here........

Do you have to have a line voltage stat?

As far as I know, yes. My current one has the cooler low/high/pump wired directly to it with power coming from an outlet.

          HVAC HAWK...

Is that for an evaporitave cooler? The touch screen looks like my A/C programmable thermostate. My evap needs to be able to handle full cooler voltage. (or is there another way?)

Hawk,Yes robertshaw makes a 24 volt system that works pretty well. You have to run some t-stat wire but, otherwise a good system for about 2 bills.
