Anyone have any experience with this type of heating unit? What are the pros and cons?

    Re: Waste Oil Furnace

Not an expert but we have one at work in the autoshop. They gone through 2 heat exchangers in 2 years. The PW guys say it's due to the higher heat. I'm not sure about that but that's what they say. Their is also a oil/water separator that's required. Ask some auto shops in your area that might have some, maybe they can shed more light on the subject. Sorry can't be more helpful.

I like the Clean Burn unit best of all of them. For what they are and do they work well. However they do require a fair amount of maintainance. They also burn waste oil. Not anti freeze, not grease, water, bits of steel and whatever other crap guys throw into the barrel. Be very carefull to pre filter the fuel before it goes into the tank.
