what type of filtration is on these things? do you need to buy new filter elements every tune-up or can re-usable be purchased?

We had one at work and it works great but I've never worked on one. It was also a clean burn unit. We go through about 3000 gal each winter when we run one but I don't know which unit we had. We were heating a space about 30'x80' uninsulated. I never saw a super filtration system or anything like that. Check their website to find exact specs for installation.

one thing to consider is the used oil is many times recommended to be stored in a heated part of the building, when a fire occurs with a few hundred gallons of fuel in the building it leaves very little to salvage and makes a real challenge for the fire department, happened to a dealer ship in town a number of years ago.
