Normally when I have an AC problem I call a sub that I use due to the fact that I cant deal with freon. I had one yesterday that wasn't coming on but was getting 220. Called my AC guy and he said it was probably a bad transformer and he would bring me one. he gets there and we tested the trans and it was putting out 28v. He found the 3a fuse on the 24v circuit board blown. We didnt have any replacments so he put a jumper in just to see if it would work and it did come on and run no problem (only let it run about 5 seconds). I didnt like the jumper idea but he assured me that if it did any damage it would be to the transformer and he would replace it. After he left I got some fuses and changed it out. Every time I flip the breaker on there is a 2-3 second delay and the fuse pops. Weve inspected all of the low voltage wiring that is visable and it all looks good. Any ideas what to look for or how to test things?
