  • Hot Dawg Heater Programmable Thermostat?

I have a Hot Dawg Heater, HDS 45, installed in my shop and I seem to forget to turn the thermostat down when I leave. Question is, can I install a regular residential set back/programmable thermostat such as found at any BORG? It appears to be a 24V system with 2 wires coming to the thermostat.
    Thanks,
    John

If anybody happens to see this the furnace actually had 3 wires coming to the thermostat and I bought a Honeywell Programmable Thermostat at Menard's and it worked fine.

I had an electric one with a dial thermostat. I installed a transformer and a relay and used a stat with the ability to go as low as 35. You got lucky on the wiring.
Check out Johnstone supply and get the garage type stat. You'll find it more usefull and be able to keep stuff from freezing overnight but not waste too much energy. $25 bucks
