  • Trane TCONT800 series thermostat

System is working well now after our guy replaced the 3T condensing unit. He noted that the trane thermostat, model listed in title, seems to be reading about 5ยบ off true temp. Is there a way to recalibrate that? I have the manual and don't seem to see anything. Is is ok to just wing it and set the stat to achieve desired comfort level?

Is it a mercury bulb stat? If so replace it with a digital. WR makes some decent digitals. I tend to shy away from Honeywell stats.

      That's a relabeled visionpro 8000 honeywell.

Heating and cooling temp correction can be done and is accessed in the advanced installer options and setup.

I used to use it to make it read higher or lower depending heating or cooling to fool my wife into believing it was warmer or cooler than it actually was.
