  • Vent Temperatures?

Just curious as to what a "good" vent temperature would be for Air Conditioning?

What about heating with a heat pump? Natural gas?

What's considered a desirable, efficient, temperature for the different seasons at the outlets/vents?

    Thanks.

    Re: Vent Temperatures?

From experience what I find is a variety of different discharge air temps. Duct, blower speed, condition of the equipment, conditioned space, all these factors have an effect on air temps.

    Short answer.

    For cooling 50-60.

Heat pump heating mode around 100.

    Nat. gas furnace around 120.

As for desirable temps. As warm and cold as possible within the heating and cooling unit specs.

What I find is poorly installed and sized duct is the biggest problem concerning air distribution problems. Use flex duct sparingly. Do the duct right, everything else will fall in place.
