  • Need some help with replacing Thermostat

    Hello,

I have a old Carrier Heat Pump Thermostat and would like to replace it with the Honeywell RTH2410B. On my old thermostat is a W2 wire, but the RTH2410B has only a W/AUX and not a W2 plug/connection.

Can I put the W2 wire in the aux?

    Thank you

What does the instructions for the new tstat say?

If it were me I'd try it. Since W2 is for the aux heat it's most likely one in the same.

It says "Heat pump with auxiliary/backup heat"

      See here page 1:

Pages 7 & 8 explain it. You need to put the W2 wire on the W/Aux terminal.
