  • Copper Tubing for Central Air Unit Location?

The copper tubing for a central air unit need to be moved. As the gas furnace will in in the basement and the air unit will be on the roof (30' way) in most locals can the copper tubing be run on the interal wall (between the drywall) to the roof?

Also 5 ton unit -- what is the approximate maximum distance between the furnace and air unit is acceptable to run the copper?

don't know if you still need the info, but

1 yes you can run the tubing inside the wall just treat it like anyother pipe (nail plates, straping)

2 you would have to check with the manufactur but usally 50' is ok any more and you will probly have to upsize the pipe also you will probly need an oil trap at the outdoor unit on the roof.
