  • New thermostat for old floor furnace

My small, Southern California house was built in 1950 and has the original floor furnace. I would like to upgrade to a digital, programmable thermostat ($30 to $60 price range) with a display that shows both room and set temperatures. The existing thermostat is an old, round, two-wire Honeywell (Model #T87F2873-3-8437). What thermostats would you recommend that I check out? How about one of the millivolt-compatible thermostats made by Honeywell or White Rodgers?

I believe the Honeywell FocusPro TH6000 is compatible with millivolt systems. That's the one I keep on the truck. It's pushing that $60 price tag though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've found out that there are some Honeywell thermostats in the TH4000 series which will also work. They're a little cheaper.
