  • Question - AC response to ambient temperature

    Hello,

Let's look at a standard Air Conditioner working in cooling mode (lets say from 35C ambient temperature to 7C). Now, if the ambient temperature decreases, the AC is supposed to change it's condensing temperature accordingly, and thus the COP increases.

How does the the AC "know" about the temperature change?
What changes actually occur in the compressor operation and/or the thermodynamic cycle?

How do the answers change if there is an inverter installed?

    Many thanks!
