  • Chimney liner

I was at the supplier today looking for a chimney liner. They have liners for ng furnaces which i think he said were aluminum. But at my house we have an oil furnace so my question is if i can use the natural gas liner kit or if i have to buy the stainless steel kit. as the price difference is 60 to 320 for a 6" 25' liner.

You need the stainless, the aluminum will never hold up to the temp swings and acidity in oil burner flue gases.

But aluminum will be able to hold up for a ng furnace?

ng flue heat is not as hot as oil

and oil does not burn as clean as gas so there will be a build up of soot and will rot away the aluminium
