      Re: Compound leverage wrench

just to answer a few questions

the insulation is old worn fiberglass

the leverage generated is approx. 7 to 1

plus you don't need a back up wrench to hold back.

and i did test this at the shop with a 2'' nipple and cap. i was able to tighten it so tight with this wrench that a 48'' couldn't undo it without a cheater.

this is their smallest model and is good for 2'' pipe and fittings.

it's also very light in weight

i purposely took the photos and posted this tread to enrich the guys that have never seen or used one.

      in 32 years, i've never used 1

Thank you for showing me this tool. I take it the chain/vise portion of the tool acts as the back up wrench and the wrench pivots on some sort of axle that connects the wrench to the vise?

Thanks again, I need one of these tools.

I love stuff like this. Rick was also the one who showed me what a torque-multiplier was...I still need to buy that one too.

Rick, if you ever retire, I beg you to let me make an offer on some of your tools. I think I would be like a kid in a candy-store to see your collection.

greg, here is a good shot of the pins, and axle/ pivot point.

the 2 grey pins are for connecting the side plates that hold the wrench together. the larger pin, axle 7/8'' is the pivot point that attaches the wrench to the vice.

sort of works like a push me, pull me wrench.

the vice is locked down on the stationary weld-o-let and the wrench jaws grip and turn.

awsome little wrench when you need to break it loose.

i figured most of us have never seen or used one and my point was to expose it to all of us

                it's no k-60

but it's the wrench that can

1 more point for the k-60 mention

                rick.
