  • Which Threading Machines?

Which threading machines do you prefer?

    RIDGID
    Collins
    Reed
    REMS
    Wheeler
    others???

Why do you prefer them? Do you prefer one brand or type for certain applications and another brand/type for others?

    Just thinking and learning.

    Thanks.

For a stand machine I prefer Collins and for hand held or vice type I prefer Ridgid. It probably has more to do with what I was exposed to 38-years ago than anything else.

For a bench threader we always used a Collins or Wheeler but for electric hand threading you can't beat a Ridgid 600

          Re: Which Threading Machines?

i have them all and it depends on the size of pipe and the quantity of cuts.

for 1'' and smaller i go with my oiless 1210 that makes factory threads

for a couple quick portable 1.25'' and smaller it's the 600.

          for 1.5-2'' portable it's the 700.

for jobsite portable, it's the 300.

and for all out production, it's the collins/ rothenberger 22a.

i guess you could say i have a threader for every situation.

oh and to win bets, it's the 12-r hand threader
