        Metal pipe hangers should be insulated from touching plastic pipe. In a hanger the pipe can expand and contract more freely than a two hole strap against a concrete wall. Codes differ from area to area....so it may or may not apply to everyone.

          I'm on the UPC here. I believe the theory concerning expansion and am confident the offset will counteract any expansion.

                I guess thats the thinking ..I hate using that cheap as* plastic strapping ..I use strap iron

                            Thanks, I did not see them. I don't believe a situation will ever arise for that clamp to damage the walls of that pipe. Maybe earthquake.

                                You would need to seperate the metal from the plastic with an insulator....such as rubber.
