Spoon, Since you have Ridgid benders you probably don't care, but I tried bending some Hard L copper last week after seeing your pics, and the Imperial spec sheet claiming it will bend L hard. It worked just fine. I'll spare you the pic. The Ridgid bender will also bend K, the Imperial bender didn't indicate K so maybe the Ridgid is more versatile.

I would say the intent of most any code is met with that support.

Spoon's an artist. He don't make junk.

In a vertical application,if it can slip through a support it's useless.

I tried some M tube with my 7/8 bender, it worked on the first bend but the second tore. It was for the T & P.
It wasn't to bad but had some wrinkles.

So you do much better with Type L hard?

              Thanks.

                Spoon,

There's a 7/8" bender out there for copper? Oh man. I better get digging in that catalog!

I've tried to bend M also with poor results, the wall is just too thin.

No deformation with L tube. It's pretty slick.

Yes they do. The chain grip is to try an keep the M from pulling.

I would waste a lot more copper than I could bend correctly with that set up..That has to take a lot of patience and practice

No you wouldn't. Use a tape measure and get your offsets and bend them. Practice with the small stuff and its the same for the bigger sizes.
I use to bend alot of chrome water supplies. Its like a game of pool...you need to be thinking ahead.
