Press tools have been of discussion lately. I peeked at Stanley Virax to see if there was anything new.

The P22 looks the most professional. There others may be fine as well though.

What's most interesting is the one that can be used underwater.

    Thats a goofy looking machine.

I'm sure the "underwater" use will get some spry comments...lol

M20+ Compact Pressing Machine - Stanley VIRAX

you could never have too many press tools

now i officially have 1 for every finger on both hands. that leaves me 11 more tools i can still press

You should get yourself a Rothenberger Romax Compact. Then you'll be calling your friends at Ridgid and asking them and Viega to make a stick one.

The price and warranty are certainly enticing...but then again I don't want to get caught in one of those "you get what you pay for" themes.

I wish Ridgid would make a unit similar to the Romax compact.

                      Re: New Stanley Virax

honestly getting the tool into position is not that big of an issue. the head rotates and the press rings allow for a universal joint type swivel. so i can press it perpendicular or parallel to the pipe or anywhere in between.

1/2''-1'' is not too challenging. it's the bigger stuff you need to assembly and then press in an order that makes access to all the joints feasible. unlike soldering where it's frowned to solder just 1 side of a fitting, then come back to do the other side. propress can be done in any order you find practical.

                        Stick beats gun.

                        (I don't own a gun type though.)
