victaulic had one back in the late 80's or early 90's that would press fit sch 5 pipe. used it several times, not really that impressed with it at the time.

I would like to see that bad boy also!!

No. According to their press release it is slated for after 1 January 12. They will be phasing it in based on regions to ensure the supply channels have enough fittings to meet the market. I would like to know whether the IAMPO-UPC has approved it use.

i have the victaulic unit and it's a beast. only have the 2'' jaw for it.

price was too good for me to pass it up.

Rick, if you could find a spare moment could you post a few pictures. You guys are spoilt rotten over there. It usually takes several years for good ideas to filter down to us.
I hope I am not repeating here but I am interested in the gas pressures your domestic equipment runs at. Do you deal with elevated pressures, upwards of 4kpa. Is the Viega system allowed to be used on elevated pressures.

cleanman, the victaulic unit looks very similar to the ridgid propress unit, it has a milwaukee electric drill style running the pump. similar to the old ridgid 400 corded unit. the big difference is the size of the 2'' jaw on the victaulic unit.

out here in southern california, southern calif. gas company, our gas pressure to appliances is 7'' of water column.

on large commercial projects we / i have requested medium pressure .5#-2# gas and then install regulators close to the appliances.

i have seen newer housing developments running csst in medium pressure to a central manifold then reducing to 7'' and distributing to each fixture. this allows for smaller sized lines, thus saving material cost and labor.

One thing I do have to mention after reading my Viega Voice Magazine ad for the MegaPress, is the Viega fittings are approved for gas and water, where the Fastlock fittings do not have gas approvals.

it would be so nice to do it on Natural gas .it would be a very big time saver
