  • Question about these Ridgid tool die's.

Can any one give me information on the die's/adapters in these Rigid 42a pipe cutters show in the picture below. The crimper style die has an "A" stamped in steel and the other die has a "X" stamped in the steel. I can not find any information on-line about these die's/adaperts and/or what they are used for. Any information would be great.

    Thanks,

    James

my best guess is it was a makeshift soft cooper pinch off tool and the other one was used to attempt to reround the copper after pinching off. or a type of crimper of a certain size.

i don't believe ridgid made the inserts but just supplied the 42-a head / pipe cutter.

Rick, thanks for the information. The seller of these tools listed them as a crimper and pipe a shaper. I bought them both very reasonable in a ebay auction installed in two separate Ridgid 42a cutter tools. It seems to me that they are very well made which is why there must be a story behide them.

Better ask Marvin aka rod Man on this.
