  • Auto-Cut (Copper)

Home Depot stopped carrying the 3/4" ones, leaving just the 1/2" ones along with the numerous Ridgid product lines.

I've noticed over the past 6 months that those auto-cutters will spiral copper pipe from-the-go, making the cutters junk as it will never get corrected.

Home Depot instantly gave me a replacement for the 1/2" cutter, got a good one this time so far. The 3/4" one they just gave me a gift card for $19.00. I can now buy another one somewhere else, like a plumbing supply house.

They had the old wheel type but I like these clamp and cut types very well, easy on the paws.

Would you all recommend another cutter, like Milwaukee? I don't want anything motorized, nothing with a long handle. I need something as small as it gets, can fit in tight spots and I can spin it whether I'm looking at it or not. So used to the small ones that nothing will pale in comparison.

This, along with the 3/4, is what I use. Available through Hughes Supply down here.
Solid, heavy aluminum, one piece, simply the best one-handed cutter ever used.

I love the Auto cut tool. Noticed HD stopped carrying them recently and assume I will have to find them online now.

        I have a set of Lenox 1/2" 3/4" 1".
Runs about $40.00 for all 3.

I have the lenox as well but the 1" makes slinkies. I use the milwaukee 12v cutter which covers most close quarter area.

I have a Rothenberger one like this. Works well. Thinner wheel cuts quick. Sorry Ridgid, I've got the small & minis. Even the new ones with the little pressure arm on the side. They can't compare.

I see these almost always looking the exact same under different brands though. Seen even the el cheapo Superior brand that looked the same. Might work just as well, just haven't tried them myself.

Here's the 3 part video josh filmed while in our hotel room after the trade show a few years ago. Witnessed by several forum members.

Don't let the keyboard commander Rick fool you. He whined for about 2 weeks how his hands were cramping up and that was my first time using the machine. I'd smoke him if we did this today.

Not if we did a more reasonable count like first to cut 10 pieces.

Btw, I think you still owe me a fishing trip.

                      Happy birthday ben.

Bought 4 sets of those the last time I placed a Lenox stocking order. Haven't heard any complaints about the 1" cutter yet.

I burned up these plumbing forum boards for years, burned myself out and work is aplenty. Nice to step back into some of these stomping grounds.

I always tell everyone; if you see me here posting that means I should be doing something work related that I don't wanna do. lol
