  • Flaring SS line

I still have yet to find a flaring tool that will do stainless automotive inverted double flare fuel and brake lines.
I am told that a hydraulic flaring tool works but no one is willing to let me borrow one to try-out.
Anyone have any first hand experience with this application.
My solution has been to return to standard old soft steel line!

Try and see if you have a Parker distributor in your area. They might be able to help you and/or let you try something that might work before purchasing.

      Re: Flaring SS line

My recommendation is buy the SO hydraulic flaring tool for the warranty on the dies. Then order Summit Racing double annealed SS brake line. Better yet try Kunifer brake pipe it works like copper and has corrosion resistance of copper and DOT approved. The only down side is you need to secure it better then standered brake line with age it tends to harden and fatigue if not secured well.

With the hydraulic flaring tool you want to use a good sharp tubing cutter to prevent work hardening the tubing and destroying the dies.

The very best brake line for corrosion resistance IMHO.
