  • rumor has it "new jaws"

what's up with the rumor that new jaws are in the works .

are the viega fittings still going to work with my 4 current tools?

personally 1.5'' and 2'' fittings get a larger than normal crimp deflection. are these going to address this issue?

what's the update with the leaking 2'' joints from the prior thread?

    please give us the scoop.

    Rick,
When you mention new jaws, which jaws are you asking for?

Please see below thread on reply from the leaks.

jeff, i'm concerned that the 4 propress systems i own, 1-100 with copper jaws,

3- 320 with jaws plus 2 sets xl jaws.

will these tools and jaws continue to work with viega propress fittings both now and in the future? is there a change in the fittings that will make me need to get new jaws.

i know that nibco has a line of fittings out.

is the ridgid/ viega brand still going to be avaliable in the future. are new jaws going to be required.

      no beating around the bush.

        Rick,

The RIDGID/ProPress jaws (standard and compact) that you own will continue to work on Viega's ProPress fittings. The XL Rings that you own will continue to work on Viega's ProPress XL (bronze) fittings.

Ridge has launched other pressing jaws over the past year that other copper fitting manufacturers are specifying (RIDGID SHP jaws, Standard Hex Press). This, however, does not affect your ProPress jaws for use with ProPress fittings in any way.

        I hope this helps,
        Rick H
