  • How would I got about doing this?

    Hello everyone,

I’m new to the form. I have a quick question; I’m getting ready to redo my bathroom and laundry room. I wanted to know if anyone has ever done a transition from black iron to pvc. Or if anyone knows of a web site that shows and explains it step by step. If anyone has any info please email me at darkhour_000@yahoo.com.

    Thanks all

if it is a pressure connection, you can buy a threaded pvc adapter that screws into a fitting(Male Iron pipe x pvc coupling)` or that screws onto a threaded piece of pipe ( femle iron pipe x pvc coupling)

Thanks all yea it's going to be for the drian "stack" that I want to convert to pvc. It's a older house built in the 30's. Plus being a first time home owner I'm not sure how to go about doing the convertion. But thank's for the help and the web sites

Fernco or Mission bands would be a good option. This is under the assumption that the "black iron" you are refering to is actually "cast iron", which it must be because black iron would not be used for water or waste.
