          Nice to here from you. I appreciate general contractors who have a thorough understanding of all the trades involved in construction.
          Pipe dope on the male end of the threads keep the threads from seizing while applying torque.
          A lubricant.

            Over the years I've used Teflon pipe dope as a sealant, a lubricant and as a anti-seize on almost every fixture you can think of. To me it is almost like the duct tape of the plumbing industry.

              The anti-seize is what i was getting at. I dont like the idea of leaving a seized joint for the next guy. it's bad plumbing karma

                But that is what I like about this forum BigPipe.This is the most I have opened my code book in ten years,twice in two days.Back in my apprenticeship days we were slamming each other with code all during lunch every day on the job.
                It feels good to stetch the brain with guys who actualy G.A.S.
