  • lenox diamond sawzall blade

just bumped into the lenox rep at the supply house today.

he gave me a couple of his new "diamond" reciprocating blades to try. the paperwork say's that they are 3x faster in cutting cast iron pipe and last 3 times longer.

unlike the carbide grit blades that suck these have diamond chips in them.

has anyone tried them out yet?

    what did you think.

maybe i can pull the wool over mrs seat down, eyes when i tell here that there is diamonds in them

    rick.

Try sawing a brick in half with one of them for fun.

And then see if you can make a clean cut through a tomato afterward

I mentioned these a week or so ago on the thread "cast iron replacement". well worth the money. I don't cut cast very often so I don't own a snap cutter. The blades also work on tera cotta pipe. Not as well as a angle grinder but it works.

Milwaukee just came out with similar Diamond Grit Sawzall Blades. They say 2x faster, 30x longer life? Below is a YouTube video. I should get some samples any day now, I'll let you know if they deliver.

Rick, I got one from a rep a couple of months ago. And I used last week on a 4" castiron for clean out install. It seemed to cut a little faster and I only had to use that one blade and it looks like it still has life on it. So looks pretty good.

              Re: lenox diamond sawzall blade

I started buying them last year. Used one to cut a 4" CI vent above an existing wc about two weeks ago. Cut through before my arms started to cramp up (something that didn't use to be an issue ).

Love the Lenox Diamond blades, get lots of cuts out of one blade. I am guessing the first blade lasted for about 20 cuts. Well worth the money.

a 8" 10 Tpi blade does the trick... or bust out the angle grinder

                            Re: lenox diamond sawzall blade

Abrasive cutting cast is way too slow with a sawzall.
I use the lenox gold blades...
                            The go through nice...
That is when I'm not using the snapper or diamond blade in the angle grinder...

                            Last pretty good too!
