somehow the subject of arm wrestling came up.

since i never turn down a challenge, i figured we could have it at the restaurant. until i told joey and steve

since they both know me and seen me in action of course joey more than steve. they are worried about robert getting hurt.

so we might have to delay the competition for a month

then i'll drop robert like a cigarette butt

sorry robert, timing is everything. remember the master is always 1 up on the grasshopper

you're right. my real name is richard. d..k is short for richard. but i'm not quite old enough for that name yet.

Sure rick, you postponed arm wresling beacuse you forgot to take your one a day pills this week.

not cancelled, just postponed for a few weeks so joey is not there to stop it. plus it gives robert a few more weeks to quit smoking and get medical insurance. remember it takes 1 year to be back up to par after a broken arm. talk to steve on thursday if your serious.

No one is telling you, you have to do anything we are just making sure you have the information to make an informed decision. What you do with that information is up to you.

I haven't responded to this for a couple days because I wasn't sure the right thing to say. Mark, you're right, it is no different. This is just one topic I get defensive about. Don't know why, I just do. I guess the way I wrote my post came out wrong. Letters on a screen can't always express ones true feelings. I do appreciate the advice. Preach on.

                      Gear,
I'll tell you one thing that used to piss me off was when ex smokers used to throw a fit when they would catch wind of smoke(hipocrites).Smoking is losing it's pinache in our community. The smokers here are really being pinched out here. Now they are wanting to ban smoking in public parks,Does that mean if I was smoking while I was at a campground I would get a ticket.
I would be livid if I was still smoking.

The second hand smoke thing,I understand subjecting another person to a pack a day or more in a confined area(especially a childs lungs),Thats
not good. But S.T.F.UP if someone gives me a dirty look in an outside area because they smell my smoke. What are you breathing when you are in traffic with your child,WAAAAYY worse but our media does not want to say anything about that(oil indust.)

So yeah,If I was still smoking I would kindof be defensive on issues that were not here even a few years ago when there were a lot more smokers funding the cigarette industry.

The companies have lost their grip. They can no longer keep a lid on what it does to us.

We're feeling the pinch here too Adam. Starting Sept 1st no smoking in parks outside of business establishments of more than 100ft and any activities involving kids, outside sporting events and so forth. Which I go out to the parking lot to have my smoke. So I won't even be allowed to have a smoke in the parking lot. If kids see you w/a smoke, your setting a bad example for the children's. The state is even talking about banning smoking in your car. Well hopefully I'll be smoke free right around that time.

I believe in smoker rights and believe in many cases they are treated less than second class citizens. When I see employees outside of an office building smoking in the rain I feel their pain. Unfortunately that is how addictive cigarettes are. I enjoyed smoking and would be smoking today if it was not so bad for me on so many levels.

The above being said, as California has been smoke-free in restaurants and such for so many years I have learned how much I appreciate a smoke-free meal. Until recently I hated restaurants in Nevada because even the non-smoking tables always had smoke filtering over and my clothes always smelled of cigarettes. As of the beginning of this year even Nevada has gone non-smoking in every place but Casinos.

Smoking has become so anti-social these days I cannot imagine anyone considering taking up the habit. At the same time I really feel for those who are already smoking and are quickly becoming the minority. It does seem those who are the hardest on current smokers are the ex-smokers.

                                Utah,

I agree with your well written post. I have never liked smoking because it effects all around you. Both of my parents smoked, and with my sinus problems it was hell. I don't blame them because back then everyone smoked, that was the culture.

I'm a tobacco addict myself. I'm addicted to Copenhagen. It's not great, but at least I'm not shoving my addiction on someone else. The company I work for does not allow smoking other than breaks, etc.
