Re: Good work boots for plumbing?

    Thank you, dirtyhands.

I really am passionate about seeing a customer get what he needs. Usually I was able to help, but sometimes my adivce and products just wasn't what a guy wanted or needed.

    Good luck and God Bless.

Timberlands are the only boots that go on my pretty little feet.

Red Wings are a bit too pricey.

I cannot stress the importance of good footwear, it can make or break you.

Yeah...What the.... Dogs don't wear shoes.

Or maybe they DO in California. You guys on the left coast are a little weird at times.

Not shoes, WORKBOOTS. There lies the difference.

Re: Good work boots for plumbing?

I wore Red Wings for 20-years but recently switched to Wolverines. My Red Wing dealer sold out and the new people cannot figure out how to order the right shoe.

do not get joey started talking about shoes

joey has more shoes than i have tools, well maybe not

i use to buy redwings for construction. tried steel toe once and wore out the leather in 2 days. there was no give in the toes as you crawled or knelled.

now since most of my work is indoors. i buy nice slip on type leather shoes

i don't have to tie them and they come off without any work. i remove them in houses for customers that ask. the bottoms don't collect dirt and they are very comfortable.

i keep both rubber wader style boots, sorel snow boots and leather construction boots in the truck too.all water proof. you never know when the fashion police are going to stop by.

please end this before joey buys more shoes

Re: Good work boots for plumbing?

Well me and Rick are on the same wave length, I also have a bunch of different shoes and boots in the truck and work trailers. When I'm looking at Home Owners houses I have slip on leather shoes, but my main work boots are 2 brands Red Wing and Timberlands, then of course our winters up here can get a little tough, so I have Sorels Winter boots. Rubber boots are always in my work trailer year round. Its best to be ready for any situation.

Re: Good work boots for plumbing?

I too wear slip-ons most of the time -- Merrells -- because I am in-and-out of houses all day long. I wear shoe condoms only in the houses where I am afraid I am going to get my socks filthy (this makes me think of a good new thread topic - coming soon), but when the task-at-hand requires the donning of work boots, my choice is Red Wing. I own two newer pairs -- one insulated and one not, and one old pair that I just can't bring myself to throw away. Those old boots are like old friends and we've been through a lot together. Throwing them away would be like taking the dog to the vet for the last time. I just can't do it.

Re: Good work boots for plumbing?

Bob- I wear my Steel Toe Work Boots all day, every day, but I was just suggestion to him, if he is on a muddy trench job, that it's not a bad idea to pack a cheap pair of boots in the truck somewhere to jump in the hole and make whatever connections need be.
