Concrete form ties are used to keep a form together while the concrete sets, these ties are usually found as a strap that wraps around the form, or a threaded rod that goes through the form and is bolted on either end in order to keep it together. Once the concrete is set, either the band is cut, or the nuts are removed and then the form is stripped off. If the threaded rod is used, the bolt is then trimmed off with the cutters. I have been told that in most cases the materials used in these form ties are fairly soft. However, I would still suggest that you make sure that the material falls within the specified hardness -Vs- diameter ranges for the particular cutter.
