OK...fiiiinnally figured out how to download pics from my cell with Bluetooth.

Now, I know our codes vary, but there's no possible way anyone here could say this one's ok.

The other ...er.. "plumber" repiped the basement drainage in PVC.
Apparently decided to leave the drum trap, (as a historic landmark?) despite the fact that this is for fixtures two floors up and they're trapped.
The funniest part, I was just noticing how the PVC was connected in three places right as the homeowner was walking in and asking why the look on my face...look closely, they're desanco's...trap adaptors.

        Duck,

As cheap as digital cameras are these days you should pick one up. I'm sure you can tell what your picture is as you were there but to the rest of us it looks like a robot.

I did click on it which made it look like an even bigger robot.

                  I altered it a little.
                  At risk of sounding silly...
You guys do know what a drum trap is?
Point I'm making is someone just left a gazzillion year old drum trap and connected PVC to it...with Desanco's.

Yes it is a robot head with a plug in his mouth and hydraulic pipes coming out of his ears.

That isn't a drum trap, it's an all purpose sanitizing sewer line air freshener .

I see the "trap adapter" you are referring to, the Spigot x MIP with the slip joint nut and poly washer right? The kind you use for lavs and sinks.

What the heck is a Desanco?

                          Re: Reel gud plumming

When I see work like that I think they were either scared to alter the plumbing or the home owner gave the creep vibe, you know, the one that says they aren't going to pay.

Thanks for posting a pic, it really makes discussion better. I use a canon 3.2 mega pixel camera which by todays standards is crap but the pictures look good to me. I don't own a cell phone.

Yasudaplumbing, I know what you mean about Desanko's. When I go to the big city, all the plumbers call trap adapters Desanko's. It is the same concept as calling a circular saw a Skil saw or slip joint pliers called Channellocks. Desanko's generally to me are brass trap adapters commonly used to transition from galvanized or copper pipe.

Are you guys messing with duck? I can see the picture fine. It's not the clearest but I can tell what everything is.
