Just curious as to what you guys use to make cuts on the larger stuff,I've been forced into hand saws, but the shavings are intolerable.

Large PVC cutters, tubing cutters designed for plastic pipe(up to at least 3") if you don't like shavings.

    I use a skilsaw on production,some use a sawzall(PVC-ABS)

I use the Ridgid 154 tubing cutter with a plastic cutting wheel then I use a NO. 73 deburring tool to take the edge off.

Hate to bring up old thread, but can you cut 4" ABS or PVC with any tubing cutters with plastic wheels?

One co-worker has Reed's but they max out at 3". I'm guessing the Ridgid's do too.

I use my large Ridgid cutter with a plastic wheel in it to cut 4" ABS fairly often.

                  I prefer the term "hatchet".

I just left the PHCC show in Orange County with a new Milwaukee 12v PVC cutter. It will cut up to 2" PVC. It won't be a tool that everyone would need, but for my area, I think it will save some wear and tear on my hands over the years. Maybe someone else will have a good use for it also.

On production jobs I use my 12" miter saw with a fine blade.
