  • Quality work

I posted this on another site, but I thought everyone should have a chance to appreciate work of such high quality. Fortunately, I cannot take credit for this work.

Here are some pictures from an apartment I was in. There are four apartments, all done the same. I didn't get pictures of it, but none of the apartments have a single vent through the roof.

Here are pictures from one of the local car dealers. Note the Wirsbo barely on some of the fittings.

And here is pictures of a tankless water heater in a home that is under ten years old.

The pictures of the Wirsbo were both done by a licensed plumbing company in my town.
These are pictures from before my town has a Home Depot. I can only imagine what sort of work I'll see after Home Depot opens.

It just brings tears to yer eyes, don't it?

They send those little darlings out of the nest way too soon. They need to enjoy their childhood before they pretend to be adults.

Or is it that there are just some plumbers who have no idea of the concept of striving for excellence?

I can't even say anything...no words can explain the how I feel looking at those.....

I saw some pictures at the supply house that a builder brought in, he hired a licensed plumber to plumb 14 of his new houses, after 37 fails on the inspection, he went to go and check it out......

            All I can say is:

            THE CHEAPEST BIDDER
THE WAY THE TRADE IS GOING, THERE WILL BE MORE OF THIS

            Thanks for sharing Nevada

That is without a doubt some nasty looking plumbing.

I just know Dunbar's chompin at the bit...I'll say it.
                COPPER!

Proof positive why we have to keep plastic 24" away from water heaters & boilers...I'm assuming thats an electric tankless, with the exploded Wirsbo.

I don't fault anyone for using plastic, it's not a choice when you're bidding against half dozen other shops that are using it, but sometimes I worry this is what it's coming to.

                  Re: Quality work

The scary thing about those pictures is that I see stuff like that every day. We didn't get a building department until 1999-2000. If a building burns to the ground, as long as you leave one wall standing, you can rebuild the entire thing without a single inspection. I've watched that happen many, many times out here. I've been in brand new houses that had an inspection done with s-traps for the drains. The few inspections I've had to have done on new construction, the inspector never looked at the piping. He checked the pressure gauge, and then left. Scary, scary stuff.

Do you guys think that most of the crazy plumbing you find was done by DIY'ers?

Most of it is, but I see a lot of bad work also done by cheap contractors.
