  • A pro-pressed this mess?

It is a real shame that idiots can buy good tools. I opened a floor to find this mess done by another licensed plumber that charged rather steeply for the job. The PVC is terminated in the floor left open.

Its suppose to be a 2" shower and 1 1/2" lavatory back to back. It was leaking on final air test. He got over 4K for this crap.

Am I seeing things or are some of the fittings "back soldered?"

You know what, I don't need to analyze it anymore. It's just an undecipherable mess. Cut, cut, cut.

Its getting sawzall surgery tomorrow. How close can I solder to these press fittings? Have only about 3" from fittings to new ball valves.

if u heat those press orings too hot, they will leak--i never tried soldering that close to a ppress fitting--its easier for me 2 walk in with a bucket of pp fittings, the press and some cutters--u may be alright if u wrap the pp fitts with wet towels--i wouldnt try from 3 inches unless u solder quick and cool

Funny, when I complained about guys using orings to seal copper with the pro press I was told it'll seal without the oring. No answer when I asked why use the oring then
