  • Interesting to me.

This was an interesting valve assembly I rebuilt today. We don't run into often here. This may be easy for some.....do you recognize it?

The only thing I see here is sayco and delta here. I have no idea.

      I can't remember. Have I worked on a Sayco?

I recognize it, but it's been several years and I can't come up with the brand at the moment. It'll come to me.

Yep Bill. I should have left the d&$#! seats out maybe huh? 15 parts! Works great though after the rebuild.

I've worked on several of those. I believe there is a replacement/upgrade kit to modernize them from M-One Supply in Salt Lake City. American Standard M1030 series. Handle is rectangular - probably brushed stainless or something like that.

              There's a standard unit and a pressure-balanced unit.

This was a metal chrome "wheel" that is not pressure balanced. Interesting to me as it operates exactly like a basic Moen.

I didn't lose any sleep over it (never do) but I did think about this today and remember A/S. Surprised I didn't remember last night, but back when I worked on those I had a different opinion of A/S.

Yeah this is it. The forum probably has some sort of "automatic rollout" of pics to make room. Here are the valve parts I know about. Not a good rebuild step by step or anything. Just the parts.

                        Is this it?

I've got the kit but not the stem. I'm going to have to drill out the allen screw on the bottom of the handle. I might need the stem to. Did you get it locally or online?

                            Re: Interesting to me.

I bought it locally. I think a Kissler dealer will have it. The one I rebuilt works really well. Smooth. I don't think it had been rebuilt in 30 years & only dripped a little if you didn't put the handle in the sweet spot.

Maybe one of those things they made too well.

The hardest part was the seats out of the valve body. Almost stripped the centers out. But I got'em. If I remember right you remove part of the body in the center and the seats are in the removed part under the brass slotted screw caps you remove with an impact driver.

Easier if you have a vice, which I didn't.

Post a pic when you conquer it.
