    I tried the Pasco version and it's junk. There is a two-sided shape on the shaft and the cutter just strips out.

          The OP is asking how to remove the hub of a PVC fitting from a piece of pipe coming out of the slab and everyone is telling him how to remove a piece of PVC from the hub of a fitting. The method the OP mentioned with cutting the fitting off from the hub and then cutting slices in the hub is the way to go but he needs to be real careful.

          Thanks Mark I didn't even think it through when the other guys were giving me advice. Either way (removing PVC from hub or vice versa), I know what to do now

            Heat gun or torch to soften things after cuts are made. definetly helps.
