  • Pipe Carrot?

Do any of you use a pipe slitter (seen it called a "Pipe Carrot" before) for water line replacements?

    Positive or negative experiences?

I was looking at them on Wheeler's site yesterday. They look like a time saver and an all around good idea. Yourself ?

No experience here. I've been looking at them as I've been running into some damaged water lines that warrant replacement.

Seems like it would be better than a pipe pull for DWV for obvious reasons but...nothing beats experience to know the good & bad.

I have used the type you pull through poly lines splitting it and then pull copper after. A great item. Just dig one hole and pull it with a backhoe. I understand they are $1000 approx. I rented on from another guy. Well worth it! Mark
