  • What size...

    Is the socket used for removing annode rods? Just can't remember, somebody asked. I thought it was 1 1/8". Can anyone remember?

      keep in mind you either need an impact wrench or a torque multiplier to remove the old anode rod. a breaker bar will just turn the entire heater.

        Thanks, Just had a mental lapse. I usually use an electric impact wrench.

          Removed many anodes with nothing but a breaker bar.

            I have a 1-1/16" wrench I use. Put it on the anode, slip a piece of 1.5" pipe over it, hit it with a 3# hammer and there ya go.
