The big block looks to be pre-cast and designed for the application?

I have to admit i've used heavy gauge solid wire before as pipe hangers in residential situations. When properly done - multi-wrapped noose-style on each end - the coated wire is strong enough to do the job without slipping or pulling out and it provides a non-slip non-abrasive vibration resistant hanger that doesn't look bad. Residential customers generally won't pay for split ring hangers and threaded rod. Do I do a whole run in wire? No. But a onesy, twosy isn't so bad.

The picture shown is not how i'd do it.

A commercial application would get the expensive stuff.

                    Don't think they're pre-cast.

                          Re: Pipe support

This is a job I did and all the pipes had to be hung at 9 foot off the floor and the roof was at 20 I think. And I had to make a stand rot the pipes chose to the floor.
