I can't even figure out what that piece of pvc is doing on the overflow tube... at first I thought it was a home made flapper-closing-delay-device like the flappers that came on those american standards, but now I see it's not... what is it even for?

is that one of thse eljer's with the wierd flappers that I can't get and someone has jb-welded in that rig for a replacement flapper?

Looks to me like just a homemade brace for the flush mechanism.

Not really an overflow tube at all.

you're right. The tank has a cast-in-place overflow. The PVC is just for the flushing mechanism.

Here is another angle. This guy owned three liquor stores and one restaurant. Guess he just like a challenge.

Anyone can tear a man down, few can build one up.

It just seams a lot more work, then to just do it right

This is an example of do it youselfers at their best. Notice the JB Weld on that tee in one of the pics.
They didn't like my estimate and got a fly by nite guy to fix it.

ok, I get to sf once in a while... usually to see my parents.

I'm making it a mission to pee in that, preferably with one arm around my pop's shouder while he pees in the other half. Preferably after getting us both a little drunk on some of the nice wine undoubtably served in the on site cafe. I hope the artist will approve.

Remember, in SF you have to watch your back when you expose your front.
BTW: As far as I could ascertain, the urinal wasn't signed.
