Sorry to sidetrack your discussion/question/topoic but how much $$$ do you guys have to shell out to get licensed in various states/counties, etc.?

When I became a Journeyman and got my red seal about a year ago I am a ticketed/licensed Journeyman accross all of Canada, which is why they call it the (inter-provincial) red seal.

          They honor it sorta:

You have to fill out a form for your hours worked as an IL licensed plumber. I don't remember the number.

Then you go to Indianapolis for the plumbing contractors exam.
          1. Written test.
          2. Copper test - calculations and then build it.
          3. pour a HORIZONTAL lead joint.

Indiana is UPC so throw everything you learned about venting in IL away. Apparently water in IN drains in such a way that FD's don't need vented

Also, there is no continuing ed in IN. If you want names and numbers I could prolly find it.

You will be licensed through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.

I found a number through the Illinois Dept of public Health. In order to work in Indiana, you submit a request to the license board. They then hold a board meeting, look at the application and grant you permission, or they dont. thanks for the help.

The board grants you permission to take the test. IIRC

You must take either the journeyman test or the plumbing contractor test.
