  • Found this at a lakeside cabin

Seems every time I work out at a summer cabin I find something like this. No vent, upside-down trap, and upside-down ty. Had to use a cheat vent on repair which I hate doing but at least it will drain better now. No matter how many times I see this stuff I still get a kick out of it.
The first pics are how I found it, and the last is how I fixed it.

    amazing

but your dishwasher wye and dishwasher hose placement is still bad.

either an air gap or a high loop. the hose should enter through a wye branch tailpiece in the vertical position. not horizontal.

I am assuming there is another trap on the bottom side of the cabin, otherwise aren't you going to get sewer gas in the kitchen? Or does the vent not terminate under the sink like it looks like it does.

Looks like it was done as an indirect waste system.
Probably a restaurant guy took a picture of his 3 comp sink and made his cabin just like it.

Did away with the clean out!!!!

My guess is so that sink drainage has a lot less of a chance of backflowing into the dishwasher. Am I even close Rick?

i like how the clean out was on the back side of the other pipes so you have a fun time getting to it

rick i always had the dishwasher line make a high loop then put it into the tailpiece

Horizontals are more subject to build up. Maybe it is so waste solids don't sit in the pipe.

The picture does not show it but the dishwasher hose is looped up high above the dishwasher as is required. As for the dishwasher y, it is common practice here to install it horizontally. Also not shown in the picture there is a line cleanout on the vertical below the ty, you can just see the top of it in the pic. And yes the vent is an auto vent on top. The code here only recently allowed them to be used but I still hate using them unless as in this case there is no alternative that does not include opening walls which was not an option.
