  • PVC shower pan material

Has anyone else had enough of this $H!T
This is the second job in a row that the tileman damaged the pan. I'm considering going back to copper. No problems for 20+ years

          Re: PVC shower pan material

I've never had a problem, but I haven't had other guys doing the tile install.

The only time I put shower pans in I'm also the tile guy.

I always used coraloy, and have done lead and copper, have seen some
newer pan matieral Kerdi is one but from the pic it looks like the curb
was not wrapped properly, but the pic does not show much.to me.
looked again and would never put a screw there.worked for a
plumbing and til company for 10 yrs and did 2 tile shower stall
a week and the tile guy would drive nuts but I had to work with them.
they were all subs and tile was all they knew.

I'm lucky here. Not many tile guys will leave a plumbers shower pan in. I've had quite a few say they don't trust our work. Fine by me so long as it was good by the builder.

                  Epilogue
Tile company owner looked at the damage and took ownership of the problem. I offered our company's labor and materials at no charge. The GC was happy.
