  • Sump Pump Hammering

I have a problem. When my customer's sump pump turns off, it jolts the house. Does anyone have a clue how I can stop the jolting? Should I strap the pipe tighter or let the pipe move more freely? Anyone have a suggestion?

Also, was wondering why someone would drill a hole in the pipe between the sump pump and the check valve?

The pump needs to be strapped tighter and more secure. The hole allows air to escape in the case that the sump is pumped dry. This prevents the pump from becoming airlocked.

I've never used AY Mac's, but have used others and they make a world of difference.
